Anil Sharma says Uttam Singh is feeling guilty for causing a stir over unauthorised usage of Gadar music in Gadar 2: ‘Baat ka batangad ban gaya’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

A few days ago, Uttam Singh, the music composer of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha had criticised director Anil Sharma for using the entire background score of Gadar and its songs Udja Kale Kawan and Main Nikla Gaddi Leke in Gadar 2 without his consent. Anil recently addressed the statement made by Uttam Singh and said that the veteran composer is feeling guilty for causing a stir.
Anil revealed that Uttam Singh told him he simply stated that he wasn’t asked before recreating the songs. He told Bollywood Hungama that Uttam had come to his office and he made him hear the songs along with the background score of Gadar 2.
He mentioned that the music rights rested with Zee Music Company and he spoke to them. Similarly, he used Kisi Ki Muskurahaton Pe song. He admitted that he didn’t to Uttam but he did speak to Saregama as they hold the rights.”But baat ka batangad ban gaya. He’s feeling so guilty. He’s wondering ki yeh controversy kyun ho gayi? Woh sone jaise bahut hi achhe insaan hai,” he added.
Earlier, while speaking to Bombay Times, Uttam Singh had said, “Maan mariyada bahut badi cheez hoti hai and Hindustan mein iska bahut value hai. Inhone na maan rakha, na mariyada rakkhi. Creative right bahut badi cheez hoti hai, duniya bhar mein, it is a big thing. This was very bad on the part of Anil Sharma.”
