Biden says he’s disappointed at Jinping’s absence from G20 summit

US President Joe Biden said on Sunday that he was disappointed that Chinese President Xi Jinping would not be attending the G20 summit  in India, but added that he was going to “get to see him.” “I am disappointed … but I am going to get to see him,” Biden told reporters in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, without elaborating further on the details of his likely meeting with the Chinese president.

Biden will be in India from September 7-10 for the G20 summit scheduled to be hosted in Delhi for 2 days. Xi is likely to skip the summit, though Chinese Premier Li Qiang is expected to represent Beijing at the meeting.
