As the race for Karnataka CM post hots up, Congress is divided over the two contenders for post –Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, according to sources. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal are backing Siddaramaiah for the CM’s post, according to sources.
While, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge is not taking sides and will be holding consultations before making a decision is made, sources added.
Meanwhile, DK Shivakumar has met Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence in Delhi while Siddaramaiah will meet him at 6 pm.
