Sophie Turner Lawsuit: Joe Jonas responds to Sophie Turner’s lawsuit: The children were not abducted | – Times of India

Joe Jonas has broken his silence shortly after Sophie Turner sued him for the wrongful retention of their two daugters, Willa, 3, and a daughter, 14 months, whose name hasn’t been disclosed yet.
Joe’s rep told E! News, “This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst.”
Joe’s rep reiterated that the children were not abducted. They are currently with their mother after being in Joe’s care for the past three months post the agreement of both the parties. The rep said thatSophie is making this claim only to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and remove the children from the US permanently.
The rep further stated that Joe wishes Sophie to reconsider her harsh legal position and move forward in a more constructive and private manner as his only concern is the well-being of his children.
Denying Sophie’s claim that she found about the divorce filing through the media, Joe’s rep said that the singer initiated divorce proceedings in Florida after multiple conversations with Sophie. The rep insisted that Sophie was aware that Joe was filing for a divorce.

As per the Florida Courts, neither Joe nor Sophie could relocate their kids at this time. The rep added that Sophie was served with this order on September 6. Joe and Sophie had a cordial meeting on September 17 in New York after Sophie came to the city to be with their kids and they have been with her since that meeting.

“Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup,” the singer’s rep said, however, the following day, Sophie demanded to bring the kids back to England asking Joe to hand over the children’s passports to take them out of the country immediately.
“If he complies, Joe will be in violation of the Florida Court order,” his team said. According to Joe, the singer wants shared parenting so that their kids can be raised by both parents and he is okay with their daughters growing up in the US and the UK.
