Sunny Deol cries at IFFI 2023 Masterclass as Rajkumar Santoshi says, ‘Industry didn’t do justice to his talent but God did’ – Times of India

Sunny Deol, who recently broke his box office jinx with Gadar 2, got emotional and teary-eyed while talking about his film journey at the ongoing 54th International Film Festival of India in Panaji, Goa.
When director and producer Rahul Rawailasked Sunny about his journey and working with acclaimed directors, the actor said that he has been really very lucky. The only problem is that he gets emotional while talking about his career.
He feels very fortunate that he started off with Rahul who gave him three beautiful films, including Betaab and Arjun. He said that some films worked, some didn’t but till today, people remember those films and mentioned that he is standing here because of these films.

Recalling his low phase, Sunny said that after his massive hit Gadar, he began to struggle for good subjects and scripts and things were not falling in the right place. Even though he did some films in between, there was a gap of 20 years.

But Sunny did not give up and he was always moving forward. “I joined films because I wanted to become an actor, not a star. I had seen the films of my father and I too wanted to do films of that variety,” he added.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who was also present at the discussion, said that he believes the industry has not done justice to Sunny’s talent but God did. Sunny was choked with emotions and was literally in tears and said that he is overwhelmed by the love he has received from people.
